Three years after the acquisition and successful realignment of James Robinson UK, Vivimed Labs is further strengthening its position in Europe and the Americas. It announced the purchase of Uquifa Spain and Mexico.
The acquisition will significantly strengthen Vivimed Labs in the life science sector and facilitate the cost competitiveness of Uquifa in its markets.
The acquisition is a measured stride and is built on the foundations of complementarity and profitable synergies.
The acquisition of Uquifa will see the Vivimed group significantly grow sales in the important life science sectors of API and finished dosage form manufacture and development. Deftly combining the supply side efficiencies and market penetration of Vivimed Labs, with the enviable expertise of Uquifa in APIs, the acquisition means not only the opening up of a range of synergistic opportunities but also an expansive footprint in the three major continents, the Americas, Europe and the Indian subcontinent.

Over the last 5 years Vivimed has been consolidating its global reach with cross border acquisitions. James Robinson, UK and Harmet International, USA contributing significantly to the IP and customer base of Vivimed. Both these acquisitions have resulted in a renewed vigour, refocusing on core strengths and the leveraging of cost efficiencies. New business, more business and higher profits have been the results.
Uquifa will become the API division of the Vivimed group and will be investing in new Research & Development and manufacturing facilities in India based on Vivimed’s expertise. Uquifa’s knowledge of the pharmaceutical regulatory framework around the world will allow Vivimed to grow FDF in Europe and The Americas in the next five years.
Santosh Varalwar CEO of Vivimed Labs will be President of Uquifa and Mark.I.Robbins will remain as Chief Executive. Sandeep Varalwar head of the pharmaceutical division of Vivimed Labs will also join the board of Uquifa, which demonstrates Vivimed’s commitment to API and FDF development over the coming years.
The completion of the acquisition sees an exciting future for Uquifa as part of the Vivimed group, especially as the world healthcare industry is set to grow strongly in the foreseeable future. It will aid in the nurturing of the famed Uquifa equity and in its own way Vivimed would also have contributed to the economy in Spain and Mexico.
